One of the biggest decisions you’ll make in planning your wedding is your venue. The place becomes the foundation of your celebration and anchors the overall design for the wedding. Your wedding invitations are an opportunity to showcase your relationship — and venue — in meaningful and unique ways.
As a Colorado wedding invitation designer, I partner with you to create wedding invitation designs that celebrate your relationship and your wedding celebration through beautiful, bold and unique wedding stationery.
Unique ways to showcase your venue in your wedding stationery
Highlight the Gondola Ride to your Mountaintop Wedding
Sometimes, how you get to the wedding is unique and certainly something your guests will remember! If you’re getting married at a venue like The 10th in Vail or at one of Colorado’s amazing ski resorts (Steamboat Ski Resort, Aspen Snowmass, the list goes on…), you might be getting married on the top of a mountain and that requires unique transportation!
The gondola ride to your wedding venue becomes an incredible part of the experience, and incorporating the gondola into your Save the Date, or wedding invitation suite, is a fun way to prepare your guests for the ride to the top as well as highlight this truly unique aspect to your venue.

Celebrate the Unique Features of your Wedding Venue
One of the most fun spaces within a wedding invitation suite is the envelope liner, and this is a perfect place to showcase the venue. You can do this in both direct and indirect ways. One of my favorite ways is to highlight the architecture of unique spaces through unique design treatments, like these examples that highlight the beautiful ceiling features of the St. Catherine of Sienna Catholic Church in Denver or the rustic lodge and amazing windows of Saddleridge in Beaver Creek.

Incorporate Wedding Venue Illustration or artwork
One of the most recent trends in wedding invitation design is incorporating an illustration of the venue or in the wedding invitation suite. Wedding venue illustrations, which can be a variety of styles from line illustrations to watercolor artwork, can be placed throughout the wedding invitation suite, including the details or RSVP card, envelope liner or even the wedding invitation itself! In the examples below, we used a barn illustration to highlight the reception venue and “rustic glam” vibe, and custom watercolor artwork of the family land that became a glamping village for the wedding weekend.

As you can see, partnering with a stationery designer to design custom wedding stationery means you can create wedding invitation suites that are specific, meaningful and perfect for you and your partner and your plans for your big day!
